Strip Poker II Plus is a poker game released by Anco as a sequel to Strip Poker. This game is not to be confused with the Strip Poker series by Artworx. Both games have a lot of similarities but they use a different interface and girl models. The game was initially released for the PC (DOS) and later ported to the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, MSX and BBC Micro.

Review
Strip Poker II PlusSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Playing poker and earn cash is fun. but playing poker and take a girl's clothes off is even better! The gameplay is pretty simple, provided that you know how to play poker. You play strip poker against one (out of two on the CPC version) attractive girl, starting with $100 The purpose is to bet (starting at $5 and raising up to $25) and beat the woman on each hand. Then she proceeds to take off her clothes as a reward. The core models in the series are Suzi and Melissa. Fortunately other characters are only available via data disks (same as with the Artworx's game).

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The graphics are nicely drawn on the CPC, although the main characters (the girls) are in black and white. The "desired" details are nice and add to the "atmosphere" of the title and its purpose. But the sound is on the negative side though since it offers a simple sound effect of the cards shuffling.

Amstrad CPC 464/664/6128CPU: ZiLOG Z80 4MHZ

GRAPHICS: Motorola 6845 address generator, Mode 0: 160x200 / 16 colors, Mode 1: 320x200 / 4 colors, Mode 2: 640x200 / 2 colors, A colour palette of 27 colors was supported
SOUND: The CPC used the General Instrument AY-3-8912 sound chip, providing 3 channels Mono Sound (via internal speaker) but capable to offer Stereo Sound provided through a 3.5 mm headphones jack (with pretty impressive outcome!). Also, it is possible to play back digital sound samples at a resolution of approximately 5bit. This technique is very processor-intensive though.
